Client Portal

  • Not always. Some clients may begin with tutoring, literacy support, executive functioning coaching, or language-based academic support without a formal evaluation. If concerns related to language, literacy, and/or dyslexia are identified, a complete evaluation or screening may be recommended to better understand your child’s needs.

  • COIYA offers virtual services and limited in-person sessions depending on availability and location. Service options may include one-on-one sessions, small groups (literacy labs), and consultation support.

  • COIYA works with children and adolescents (ages 5-14) with a variety of communication, literacy, and learning needs. This includes students with language delays and differences, reading and spelling difficulties, executive functioning challenges, autism spectrum disorder, AAC users, and students who benefit from individualized academic support.

  • COIYA takes a language-based approach to learning. Rather than only helping students complete homework, sessions focus on the underlying skills impacting academic performance. Support is individualized, engaging, and designed to help students build confidence while developing long-term skills.

  • Yes. COIYA can provide support with homework, organization, studying, and classroom assignments. This may be especially helpful for families who want additional academic support from someone who understands language, literacy, neurodiversity, and individualized learning needs.

  • Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged when appropriate. Depending on the child’s needs and the type of session, parents may participate directly, observe portions of the session, or receive carryover strategies and updates afterward.

  • Services may target:

    • Reading and literacy development

    • Spelling and writing

    • Vocabulary and comprehension

    • Expressive and receptive language

    • Executive functioning skills

    • Social communication

    • AAC support

    • Phonological awareness

    • Morphology and grammar

    • Classroom communication and participation

  • The process begins with an inquiry and consultation call to discuss your child’s needs, strengths, and goals. From there, records may be reviewed and recommendations are made for the best fit of services. An individualized plan is then created before scheduling begins.

  • Yes. COIYA offers select small group opportunities focused on literacy and language. Groups are intentionally kept small to allow for individualized support and meaningful participation.

  • Many COIYA families come after trying traditional tutoring or school-based interventions without success. Sessions are designed to look deeper at the language, literacy, communication, and processing skills impacting learning so support can be more individualized and effective.
